One of my favorite year round accessories are sunglasses. You can never have too many, especially since they come in so many different styles, colors and shapes. Here on the east coast in Michigan, the snow is finally melting and spring is only two days away, which means lots of sunny days ahead.
Just in time for spring, today is the launch of Warby Parker’s Spectrum Sun Collection. Their sunglasses collection is made up of 9 new styles, sure to make a statement all on there own. The best part about this collection, is that these shades can fit into anyones wardrobe. There stylish, chic and very trendy which means they can be worn everyday. They’ll fit perfect into anyones daily lifestyle, wear them on a morning jog, out to lunch with friends, a day in the park or whenever the day may take you. My favorite style from the collection are the Minnie Striped Sassafras, there’s something about an oversized frame, that always make me feel a bit mysterious.
Warby Parker’s goal is to create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point. For every pair of sunglasses sold, Warby Parker distributes a pair to someone in need through their non-profit partners.

inFor Melissa Jade Aiello it all started with a sketch of Karl Lagerfeld, which she completed in 15 minutes. Her illustration of the iconic designer caught the attention of everyone who saw it. People didn’t just like it, they wanted to wear it.
Melissa was born in Nottingham, England in 2001. At the age of seven, while the other kids were content with coloring in their coloring books and staying in the lines, she wasn’t interested. Melissa preferred to copy the illustrations instead, her one drawing turned to many.
After moving to New York in 2010, it was a student teacher at her school that saw her potential. She provided her with a sketchbook for her to keep track of her drawings. Wanting to follow in the footsteps of her mom (a model booker), Melissa found inspiration in fashion. She drew models from the pages of her mother’s fashion magazines.
By the time she was nine, she created a t-shirt line using her nickname Missy X. At the age of twelve, she has turned her love of drawing into a solid business. She has drawn pictures of people like Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour to designers such as John Galliano and Donatella Versace.
Currently, the T-shirts are only available for purchase by special request. Interested in purchasing a Missy X t-shirt? Contact the TBMX team for more information.

inMoziah “Mo” Bridges loved dressing up at a young age, unlike his peers he wanted to wear suits and ties whenever he could. His style inspiration came from his father and grandfather who would usually wear three piece suits for no particular reason. To him, dressing up made him feel good. When he would go shopping for bow ties, all he ever found were plain and ugly clip-ons. He didn’t want to wear a clip-on, “real men tie their own ties” he told his mother. Moziah had an idea, so he turned to his grandmother who worked as a seamstress for over 50 years, and asked her to teach him how to sew.
When he made his first bow tie it came out too big and uneven. He kept at it and and his skills improved. Within a few months, he had a personal collection of 30 bow ties made from his grandmother’s left over scrap fabric pieces. Some of the fabrics were vintage bold florals, African prints, choir robes, and scraps from old dresses. He wanted to do something different, he wanted to make bow ties that people were not used to seeing.
As Moziah would wear his bow ties out and about, people took notice. That’s when he got the idea to sell his creations. He started off selling to his family and friends, with the help of his mother and grandmother. His sales increased through the use of Facebook, his Etsy store and word of mouth. His other family members started to pitch in helping him make bow ties. He started expanding his collection by using new fabrics such as, gingham prints and tweeds. His bow ties are all custom made with adjustable hardware that can be altered in size.
Moziah has started the Go Mo! Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, where 100% of the proceeds from the “summer camp” bow ties are directed to sending children to the Glenview Summer Camp Program in Memphis, TN. Last year he helped send two children to camp, with the hopes of sending five more this year.
After high school, Moziah plans to attend Parsons The New School for Design in New York, with the hopes of starting his own clothing line by the time he’s 20.
Mo’s Bows are sold online and at boutiques throughout Tennessee, South Carolina and Texas.

This past Friday I stopped at Target to get a pair of leggings, and when I say just leggings, I mean just leggings, or so I thought. Just my luck the leggings rack is in the middle of everything. As I approached the leggings, I see that they’re on sale for $5.00, but unfortunately they were sold out of the size and style that I normally purchase. So instead I grab a pair of yoga pants (I love they way they fit, and they’re thicker than regular leggings). After grabbing my pants, I noticed another sale, they had tanks on sale for $5.00, who could really resist that sale. Before heading to the checkout lane, I walked over to the clearance racks and noticed that the Peter Pilotto for Target collection had been marked down. I ended up getting a skirt and a top. Looks like my one item turned into a shopping trip, but hey that what happens when you walk into Target.
Here’s what I bought, besides the yoga pants I went in for.
Does Target have this affect on you?

inLast week while I was the salon waiting to get my hair done, I picked up this months issue of Vogue (the issue with Rihanna on the cover). I came across something that I thought was pretty awesome and I wanted to share it.
This photo was part an ad campaign for Shinola (an American manufacturer of watches, bicycles and leather goods located in Midtown Detroit) by photographer Bruce Weber titled: Capturing a Moment. Bruce came to The Motor City to shoot a five-page campaign in Vogue’s March issue for the Detroit based company.
