Moziah “Mo” Bridges loved dressing up at a young age, unlike his peers he wanted to wear suits and ties whenever he could. His style inspiration came from his father and grandfather who would usually wear three piece suits for no particular reason. To him, dressing up made him feel good. When he would go shopping for bow ties, all he ever found were plain and ugly clip-ons. He didn’t want to wear a clip-on, “real men tie their own ties” he told his mother. Moziah had an idea, so he turned to his grandmother who worked as a seamstress for over 50 years, and asked her to teach him how to sew.
When he made his first bow tie it came out too big and uneven. He kept at it and and his skills improved. Within a few months, he had a personal collection of 30 bow ties made from his grandmother’s left over scrap fabric pieces. Some of the fabrics were vintage bold florals, African prints, choir robes, and scraps from old dresses. He wanted to do something different, he wanted to make bow ties that people were not used to seeing.
As Moziah would wear his bow ties out and about, people took notice. That’s when he got the idea to sell his creations. He started off selling to his family and friends, with the help of his mother and grandmother. His sales increased through the use of Facebook, his Etsy store and word of mouth. His other family members started to pitch in helping him make bow ties. He started expanding his collection by using new fabrics such as, gingham prints and tweeds. His bow ties are all custom made with adjustable hardware that can be altered in size.
Moziah has started the Go Mo! Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, where 100% of the proceeds from the “summer camp” bow ties are directed to sending children to the Glenview Summer Camp Program in Memphis, TN. Last year he helped send two children to camp, with the hopes of sending five more this year.
After high school, Moziah plans to attend Parsons The New School for Design in New York, with the hopes of starting his own clothing line by the time he’s 20.
Mo’s Bows are sold online and at boutiques throughout Tennessee, South Carolina and Texas.

During last nights Sag Awards, Kerry Washington made her way down the red carpet exposing her baby bump in a custom Prada crop top and long black pleated skirt. Her reason for the crop top: She loved the idea and she doesn’t have anything to hide.
I think her ensemble was a fun way to show off her pregnancy.
What do you think of her red carpet look?
During G-Shock’s Shock the World 2013 event, actor and singer Adrienne Bailon was spotted on the red carpet rocking leopard print pants, a white corset top and a white blazer with a pair of Zara sandals. Needless to say I love this look!
Thanks to 2B Stores, I received a pair of the Serena Skinny Jean. Since I’ve never worn any of their jeans before, I was unsure on what size to get. I didn’t know how true to size they were, so I went based off the fit guide. When they arrived in the mail, I tried them on and ta-da they were a perfect fit. For me, I always have a hard time finding jeans that really fit the way I like. These jeans are a cotton and spandex mix, which allows them to hug your curves just the right way.
I give these jeans two thumbs up, for a great fit, reasonable price and a cute trendy style. Next on my list is the Jetsetter Jegging.
Check out what else 2b Stores has to offer, you won’t be disappointed!

Jumpsuits are a hot look this season, and I can see why. These fashionable onesies are a must have piece. There cute, trendy, and can be worn anywhere.
I think jumpsuits look best when you pair them with heels, they’ll elongate your legs even if you’re short like me.
Last night @essencemag posted a pic on Instagram of singer Letoya Luckett wearing a royal blue jumpsuit paired with a gold choker style necklace. Nothing goes better with royal blue than gold accessories.
Last year while I was working at Macy’s for the holidays, I came across a black sleeveless jumpsuit for about five bucks on the clearance rack. Needless to say I bought, but I have yet to wear it. Well, I guess now is the perfect time to pull it out, accessorize it and hit the town.
Jumpsuits are great alternative to dresses!
While out shopping this past Monday, 12 year Sasha Obama was spotted in Soho wearing a pair of Daisy Dukes. Those high cut denim shorts were just a bit too much for the pre-teen.
When I was 12, this was a no go. I don’t care what the temperature was, there was no way I was walking out the house in a pair of teeny tiny shorts. Nowadays the majority of shorts sold for girls are really short. What happened to the days, where shorts actually covered your butt? I don’t think an extra 7-8 inches added to her shorts, would have affected her in this weather.
How do you feel about Sasha’s shorts?
